This Privacy Policy applies across the AdJunction network, including private drivers, taxi drivers, commercial vehicle drivers and operators, advertisers, business customers and website visitors.

1. WHO WE ARE

AdJunction operates a mobile advertising network connecting businesses and advertisers with drivers and vehicle operators willing to display advertising on their vehicles.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, AdJunction is the data controller for personal information collected directly by us.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

AdJunction may use personal information to:

  • Process driver and vehicle registrations

We will not use personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes for which it was collected unless permitted by law and, where required, we will provide further information before doing so.

Registering with AdJunction does not guarantee selection for an advertising campaign or any particular level of earnings.

4. OUR LEGAL BASIS FOR USING YOUR INFORMATION

The legal basis we rely upon depends on the particular processing activity.

This may include:

  • Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract

  • Performing a contract between you and AdJunction

  • AdJunction's legitimate interests in operating and administering its vehicle advertising network, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests

  • Compliance with applicable legal obligations

  • Your consent where consent is required

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. DRIVER AND VEHICLE MATCHING

Information supplied by drivers may be used by AdJunction to assess whether a driver and vehicle may be suitable for a particular advertising campaign.

We may consider factors such as:

  • Vehicle type

  • Vehicle age and condition

  • General location or operating area

  • Typical driving activity

  • Advertiser campaign requirements

  • Available advertising space

Being registered with AdJunction does not guarantee that you will be matched with a campaign.

AdJunction does not currently make decisions about driver campaign eligibility solely through automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

6. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

AdJunction does not sell your personal information.

AdJunction does not provide drivers' personal contact details to advertisers for the advertisers' own marketing purposes.

Driver and vehicle information submitted to AdJunction is primarily used by AdJunction to manage registrations, assess suitability and match vehicles with appropriate advertising campaigns.

Where necessary to provide our services, limited personal information may be processed by trusted service providers acting on our behalf or assisting us in delivering a campaign. These may include:

  • Website and hosting providers

  • Payment or accounting service providers

  • Professional vehicle advertising installers

  • Printing or graphics providers where necessary

  • Professional advisers where reasonably required

Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant service will be provided.

For example, an installer may require a driver's name and contact number to arrange an installation appointment. This does not give the installer permission to use those details for unrelated purposes.

Advertisers may receive campaign-level information such as the number and type of participating vehicles, general operating areas and campaign performance information. AdJunction will avoid disclosing individual drivers' personal contact information unless there is a specific lawful and necessary reason to do so.

Personal information may also be disclosed where required by law or a lawful request from an appropriate authority.

7. WIX AND WEBSITE SERVICES

The AdJunction website is currently operated using Wix.

Information submitted through AdJunction website forms may therefore be processed or stored using Wix's website and data-management infrastructure.

AdJunction may introduce additional technology providers as the business develops. This Privacy Policy will be updated where appropriate to reflect material changes in how personal information is processed.

8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Some technology providers used by AdJunction may process personal information outside Ireland or the European Economic Area.

Where an international transfer of personal data requires safeguards under applicable data protection law, appropriate transfer mechanisms or safeguards will be used.

9. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

AdJunction will not keep personal information for longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal, accounting and regulatory requirements.

Driver registration information may be retained while the driver remains available for potential AdJunction campaigns.

Drivers may contact AdJunction if they no longer wish to be considered for campaigns and request deletion of their registration information. Certain information may nevertheless need to be retained where AdJunction has a lawful reason or legal obligation to do so.

Campaign, contractual, payment and accounting information may be retained for the period reasonably required for business, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution or other legal purposes.

When personal information is no longer required, AdJunction will take reasonable steps to delete or securely dispose of it.

The DPC specifically requires organisations not to retain identifiable personal data longer than necessary for its purpose.

10. COOKIES AND WEBSITE TRACKING

The AdJunction website may use cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the website may be used without consent where permitted by law.

Where AdJunction uses non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, such as analytics, advertising or conversion-tracking technologies, appropriate consent will be requested where required.

Users should be able to manage or withdraw their choices through the website's cookie controls where applicable.

Important for you: this wording assumes you configure Wix correctly. The Irish DPC says analytics cookies require consent, and targeted advertising/conversion tracking are not exempt.

11. COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING

When you register as a driver, submit an enquiry or participate in a campaign, AdJunction may contact you where reasonably necessary to deal with that registration, enquiry or campaign.

For example, a registered driver may be contacted when AdJunction identifies a potentially suitable advertising campaign.

These service-related communications are separate from general promotional marketing.

AdJunction will not treat registration for the service as blanket consent to receive unrelated electronic marketing.

Where consent is required for electronic direct marketing, AdJunction will obtain the appropriate consent before sending such communications and will provide an appropriate means of opting out.

This distinction matters in Ireland because electronic direct marketing to individuals generally requires affirmative consent, with limited exceptions.

12. YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS

Subject to applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal information held about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Request deletion of personal information in certain circumstances

  • Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances

  • Object to certain processing

  • Receive certain personal information in a portable format where applicable

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • Object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission if you believe your personal information has been processed in breach of applicable data protection law.

13. SECURITY

AdJunction takes reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information it holds to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, disclosure, destruction or unauthorised access.

No internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

14. CHILDREN

AdJunction's driver registration and advertising services are intended for adults.

AdJunction does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through its driver or advertiser registration services.

15. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

The AdJunction website may contain links to websites operated by third parties.

AdJunction is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites. Users should review the privacy information provided by those websites.

16. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as AdJunction develops, introduces new services or changes how personal information is processed.

The latest version will be published on this page and the Last Updated date will be amended accordingly.
